The Dauphin's Treasure, an exceptional collection of "rich vessels" from the 16th and 17th centuries inherited by Philip V from his father, Louis of France, the Grand Dauphin, is one of the most important collections of sumptuary arts in Europe. Noted for its quality, beauty, and historical value, this unique collection in Spain has been moved from the vault in the basement of the Museo del Prado to room 79B of the Villanueva Building, in the north wing of the second floor. The remodeling of the new space, carried out according to conservation criteria, was executed according to the architectural design of Rafael Moneo's studio.
The heterogeneity of materials and the diversity of pieces in the Dauphin's Treasure required a specific exhibition system. In collaboration with Jesús Moreno y Asociados, responsible for the museographic design, Ypunto carried out the development and technical execution of the display case and all the elements necessary to guarantee the quality and safety of the pieces. The central piece of the project was a continuous curved glass display case of 40 meters, designed from a detailed real-scale prototyping process. In terms of preventive conservation, the project has met five key requirements: air purification, thermal and hygrometric stability, light control, solid structures, and easy access to the pieces. Each module was subjected to rigorous technical tests, including tests of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), vibration, tightness, and air flow control, ensuring the most demanding conservation standards.

The lighting, controlled by a DALI system, was optimized with directional spotlights and specific light lines that combine opaque and backlit trays to enhance the textures, brightness, and transparencies of the pieces. These trays, carefully integrated into the display case, create the illusion that the pieces are levitating inside. In addition, an air renewal system was implemented in the display case, and special hidden supports were designed for each piece. These supports, made of contrasting materials, enhance the unique qualities of each work, highlighting them in the exhibition environment.

The construction and implementation of the project were carried out with the museum in full operation, thanks to agile planning and coordination that guaranteed an efficient assembly without interrupting the visitor experience. The result is a room that combines technical innovation with a sophisticated design, managing to generate a new aesthetic experience to enjoy this extraordinary collection.
